PODCAST

Why a Podcast?

For our podcast or number one goal is to have our young people sit and talk together and build a sense of community with one another. Before being able to do anything, we need to be united and this is a great opportunity for such a community.

Second, we will be discussing topics from the Bible and from the Writings of Ellen G White. This will make talking about God feel more natural, and is a great way to learn Biblical truths one may or may not yet know.

Third, our audiences will get a chance to hear the gospel from the perspective of young people. This will do two things, make the young people feel more at home, and also help the parents to understand what’s going on in the minds of their kids.

Our primary target audience is the youth 16 to 23 years of age. Our secondary audience is the parents of such teenagers.

Content and Format

Our plan is to host our Podcasts every 2nd and 4th Sabbaths during normal Pathfinder time. The content will be one hour long, live streamed to Youtube and later to be posted on Spotify.

The Podcasts will be based on chapters of books written by Ellen G White or Biblical topics. They will be series categorized by books or themes of the Bible.

Recording, Editing, and Publishing

We are planning to turn the Pastor’s Office into a Podcast Studio and set up all our equipment there. We will use our church Laptop with Wirecast installed to stream our videos to YouTube which we will then download the audio file and post it on Spotify after. This is to provide us with a video and audio file with little to minimal work on our part.

Promotion and Marketing

We plan to promote it on our Social Media platforms, but our main focus this year is not to grow, rather to build a sense of community among ourselves. The content may not be high quality and that’s ok. We plan to be consistent this year, try things out and launch it officially at the start of next year.

Potential of our Podcast

We will build our Podcast under Amplify Youth Ministry, but other ministries are more than welcome to utilize it. For example, Thrive Young Adults can have their own podcast every 1st and 3rd Sabbaths when there is Pathfinders. We will also occasionally invite guest panelists as our time and resources permit.

Our dream is to one day host a podcast with Houston West, and eventually request a seat with Adventist Broadcast Network, and it will be our young people of 15 to 23 years old spearheading this mission.
